My wish for today

Today,

I wish for god to purse my lips from saying things that may hurt others or myself,

To protect my actions from any wrongdoings that may hurt others or myself,

To keep peace in my heart,

To protect me from the evil doings of others

To hide all my aib,

To open my heart and my mind to all the knowledge that I will receive today,

For others to forgive me and for me to be forgiving to others.

Guide me in all the obstacles that I will face today with lots of sabar and redha towards your fate.

May today be a good day for me and others.

Amin.

to each his own BUT

the recent ruckus on facebook about christian poster condemning the islamic faith and buddhist faith in school

truth be told, i saw it since last year, because my locker is near to where they always gather.

i was taken aback when I saw it. but now, it has spread online.

and then again, in such situation, i believe the religion should still be respected,

but the group of people responsible for this should be questioned.

state of flux

Studying the history of Ottoman Empire is like studying the history of Southeast Asia.

In a constant state of flux

You don't know where to ground your facts/thoughts at.

but it's not so bad. the worst history that is in crazy state of flux is the history of the Cold War.

brrrrrr....

I have hated cold war since secondary school and it gave me nightmares in JC. why in the world did I do cold war in uni? hmmmm...

in june

dad just suggested going to Niagra Falls from Chicago in Juneee

please make this happeeen! :)

myth

big myth: history is not all about politics. (is that why political science majors minor in history vice versa?)

there is art, environmental, film, media, sports, economics, religion, science and technology, military, ideological histories etc.

it's more than about wars and politicians.

and i realized that:

  1. art, media, environmental, film, sports history profs tend to be more laid back in terms of their lecture content (cos you're learning something fun!)
  2. religious history and asian history profs are very friendly and approachable. love their personalities! I can think of 4 religious history profs who fits my claim. :)
while,

military history profs simulates war scenarios in lectures and tutorials. can be a good thing only for the strong hearted and catered to guys who have served their NS. :P

I think because aside from lecturing in school most military history profs also lecture in armed service institutions in Singapore. so naturally.....

"baris sedddiiiaaa!" and remain in that position for the whole sem. LOL!

whattaya want from meeeee

me and a friend were looking for a place for lunch when we can't find a place to sit.

"lunch is such a social construct thing"

is it the time of the semester? but it's only week 6! I've never felt this way before goodness. This feeling only sets in on week 13.

most challenging sem (for me) I must say. and I made so many decisions this one month that got me mentally tired at the end of it, additionally panicky and unnaturally snappy.

mantra: *everyday is a new day* *breathes in*

a wise friend said, "don't let the situation control you, you control the situation ok" :)

thank you
